Introduction
What T Chat is and how the pieces fit together.
What it is
T Chat is a terminal assistant for developers. You type ask "question" in any shell and get a direct answer: the corrected code, the exact command, a one-line cause. No greetings, no padding.
Access is invite-only. An administrator creates your account, and you sign in once per machine with a username and a 4-character PIN.
How it works
- The
askcommand, a small bash or PowerShell script, sends your question to the T Chat API with a personal token. - The API checks the token, your account status and your limits.
- If everything passes, the question goes to the configured model provider and the reply streams back as plain text.
Only usage counts and sizes are stored. Questions and answers are not saved by T Chat, although the model provider receives them.
Where to next
- Quickstart to install and ask your first question.
- Commands for everything
askcan do. - Deploy if you are running your own instance.
